Thursday, May 6th - Friday, May 7th; The Netherlands: *
Saturday, May 8th 1999; Netherlands: *
Sunday, May 9th 1999, Mothers day in the Netherlands: *
Monday, May 10th 1999, Netherlands: *
Tuesday, May 11th 1999, Gent in Brussels: *
Wednesday, May 12th 1999; leave Holland arrive in Harwich, England: *
Wednesday, May 5th 1999; Arrival in Brussels:
Arrived in Brussels, Belgium on American Airlines 88 at 12:30pm local time. (the flight was 30min late). Piet Carels met us and took us to his home village of Heinkenszand, The Netherlands
Thursday, May 6th - Friday, May 7th; The Netherlands:
Visited Goes, The Netherlands to buy necessaries, see Piet's workplace (a second-hand shop for the mentally handicapped) and take Sonia to work. Also toured Vlessinger and went to an American Country Line Dancing gathering Friday night in Vlessinger.
Saturday, May 8th 1999; Netherlands:
Went to Utrect, The Netherlands to pick up the camper van. Returned to Heinkenszand in the evening.
Sunday, May 9th 1999, Mothers day in the Netherlands:
Celebrated Mothers day with Sonia and her son Harry, daughter-in-law Sarina, grandson Dylan and foster granddaughter Stephie. Visited Piet's mother in the village Heinkenszand.
Monday, May 10th 1999, Netherlands:
Visited Goes again. Made reservations for the ferry to England
Tuesday, May 11th 1999, Gent in Brussels:
Traveled to Gent, Belgium and toured the castle. Prepared the van for travel.
Wednesday, May 12th 1999; leave Holland arrive in Harwich, England:
Drove the van to Hoek van Holland. Said goodbye to Piet and boarded the ferry at 4:00pm. Arrived in Harwich, Essex County, England at 7:10 local time. Drove the A120 to Coggeshall and camped next to a lovely canal and a dog cleanup sign designating the area as Braintree.
