Welcome to our kitchen. (and living room, and dining room, and den, and family car....) It's not much, but it's home. We bought our van in the Netherlands from Campenje. Once we got all the stuff organized so the things we use most often are in the cabinets most easily opened, things seem to work out swell. Here you see our spacious kitchen. The camping gas runs the burners and the fridge. The battery gives us room-temperature water in the sink. You can even wash your hair. This is the view we woke up to our first morning. But the scenery keeps changing.... Drum roll please.... The first lighting of the stove! We had a panic attack because it wouldn't light. "You should have written down what he told you," one of us said to the other. But finally we got it working and the pasta was saved!
Van life offers the opportunity to floss outdoors. Quite a pleasure really.
Here you see the wash water going where wash water will (say that three times fast).
Meanwhile
we work on these images so's you can get some idea of
what it's like. It's like, like,
There it was, as if it was gold to our eyes. A public payphone with a jack. After having no success in finding any kind of phone line for us to connect to, we were leaving Paris via train back to Versailles... and low and behold! As it turns out, this is the only time we ever met such a magical phone.
One of the many privileges of having a sink in your vehicle: Kathleen waits as her panties dry.
